ONE of Somerset's most prolific batsmen in recent years, Jimmy Cook, is back at the County Ground at Taunton in a short-term coaching capacity to help to develop the younger players at the club.
During each of the three seasons, the South African was with the county between 1989 and 1991, he scored in excess of 2,000 runs, his best being in 1991 when he made 2,756.
Shortly after arriving at Taunton, he said: "It's lovely to be here in the West Country, giving something back to the county which was so good to me.
"During my time here, I am having a look at the first team, second team and the Academy and looking at all the young players. Then, I will maybe give a little bit of advice to Brian and the other guys on the players' techniques."
