TAUNTON have delayed naming their new team coach, as more applications arrived at the club this week.
Club president Jack Matthews said: "I have received one or two interesting applications which need to be considered, so it is better to delay the decision while this is being done.
"The door is still open to anyone interested. It is important to choose the right coach who can work well with the players and bring in new faces.
"Julian Holloway continues to look after pre-season coaching and there has been an encouraging turnout at training, despite the sweltering heat.
"There have been in excess of 40 players turning out, which augurs well for the season."
Taunton plan to play Minehead Barbarians and Clevedon in August, with dates yet to be finalised.
