SOMERSET'S County Championship clash with Surrey has been abandoned due to an overnight storm which blew the covers off the wicket.

The home side announced the news just after 9am this morning (Friday) ahead of the scheduled final day.

Somerset were 168-3 overnight, trailing by 171, in what was their final home match of the season.

The match will now end as a draw - Surrey take 13 points and Somerset six.
