THE 2019 summer of cricket will live long in the memory - particularly for Jos Buttler.

The Taunton-born, Wedmore-raised former Somerset star played an integral role as England won their first ever men’s World Cup on home soil.

Buttler also played all five Ashes Tests in an absorbing series which finished 2-2.

Charting his journey was author Adam Tangent, who has now written Living With Jos Buttler to chronicle events over an exciting summer.

“The book was a spontaneous thing,” Tangent explained.

“I started writing it whilst on holiday in August as a form of therapy - an antidote to living with Jos Buttler via my son’s obsessive hero worship.

“At the time we were staying in Devon, which my son compared unfavourably to Somerset - despite not ever having been to Somerset.

“I also liken his relationship with Jos Buttler to a doomed love affair in the sense that whenever he has been to see Buttler in the flesh, events have conspired against him - he hasn’t batted or has been out cheaply.

“The hero worship, I have to admit, has also been infectious - something slightly embarrassing for a 52-year-old man to admit to - and his mother and sister also know when Buttler is batting, because there is a tense hush from the living room.”

Living With Jos Buttler has received favourable reviews from Vic Marks and Stephen Chalke, and is on sale in Taunton at the Cooper Associates County Ground and Brendon Books.
